Nicole Ryan, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC (she/they) is an ANCC board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who earned her Doctor of Nursing (DNP) degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her clinical interests and specialties include primary care and lifestyle medicine, integrative nutrition and gut health, hormone therapy, and gender-affirming care. She provides her patients with comprehensive care that is tailored to meet their individual needs.
Dr. Ryan received her undergraduate education at UH Manoa and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in pre-law. She then attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she studied holistic health and nutrition. She previously worked at the Hawaii State Capitol for Senator Rosalyn Baker, who chairs the Senate Committee on Health. Dr. Ryan has combined her background in law and policy with her clinical skills and passion for healthcare to provide equitable care for underserved and marginalized communities.
While completing her doctoral education, Dr. Ryan conducted both local and national research and co-authored peer-reviewed publications. She has investigated dental hygiene programs in Hawaii, healthcare worker wellness in Hawaii, and the attitudes and intentions of healthcare providers across the U.S. toward vaccines during COVID-19.
Sheeren Liao Masifi, MD (she/her) is originally from Syracuse, NY, but has lived mostly in San Diego, CA since 2001. She obtained her BS at the University of California, San Diego, and went on to receive her MD at the Drexel University College of Medicine, completing her training in Family Medicine at the Family Health Centers of San Dieg
Sheeren Liao Masifi, MD (she/her) is originally from Syracuse, NY, but has lived mostly in San Diego, CA since 2001. She obtained her BS at the University of California, San Diego, and went on to receive her MD at the Drexel University College of Medicine, completing her training in Family Medicine at the Family Health Centers of San Diego residency program. Dr. Masifi moved to Hawaii in 2021 to be with her partner, who is local. Her areas of concentration within Family Medicine include women’s and LGBTQ health, behavioral health and mental wellness, and minimally invasive-to-minor surgical procedures. More recently, she has developed an increased interest and pursued further training in aesthetic/cosmetic procedures as well.
